Largehead Hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus)
The largehead hairtail is one of the most important export seafood products of the Persian Gulf, particularly to China. This fish is a rich source of protein and has high nutritional value, which has attracted international attention. The hairtail has no scales and is longer in size compared to many other marine species. Its sharp teeth are the main distinguishing feature. The body is laterally compressed, bluish in color with a silvery sheen.
